Still Gold

Cody began his painting career in 2022 at nearly ten years of age, proving that it is never too late to try something new. Over the next four years, he developed a distinctive style and built an international following through his enthusiastic approach to painting.

Cody’s work is bold, energetic, and expressive. He paints with custom-modified brushes and rollers that create the signature patterns seen throughout his pieces. His process is equally distinctive: Cody wags his tail with ferocious enthusiasm and vocalizes wildly while he works. His genuine joy for painting has become as recognizable as the artwork itself, helping turn Cody into a viral sensation with a substantial Instagram following while winning the hearts of millions of people around the world.

Cody has completed 284 numbered original paintings, with two pieces now part of the permanent collection at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, in collaboration with artist Daniel Newman. He has also donated original works to support several nonprofit organizations.

His popular Etsy print shop offers many reproductions of his original paintings and has shipped prints to fans in more than a dozen countries.

Outside the studio, Cody is an outdoor enthusiast living in Northern Canada. He enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, swimming, and wilderness road trips. He retired from painting in spring 2026 at the age of 13½, leaving behind a body of work that spans four years of his unusual and very successful art career.

Cody’s art continues to support him in retirement, with proceeds from print sales helping offset the costs of his ongoing care, including joint and gut health supplements, medications, and mobility aids.

This year marks Cody’s third and final Tripawds Dog Art Auction. Since his retirement, opportunities to acquire one of his original paintings are becoming increasingly rare, making this piece part of the closing chapter of Cody’s painting career.
