Description

Deck the Howls was Ria’s first painting ever (except for practice on paper). We started with green to represent a Christmas tree. Ria chose the red to go on it by nudging the paint tube with her nose!

Silent Night, the second one, is the result of many sessions of just blue, and Ria was quite excited about that color too! The stars were done with a couple different sized brushes to look like different sized stars.

Painting Sizes: Two masterpieces at about 15”x12″ each

Paint Colors: One in pine tree green with red accents, the other in deep blues with white starburst brushwork.

About the Artist

Ria just started painting a little over a month ago but she's a fast learner. When I tell her it's painting time, she bounces down the hall to the room to do it. She likes to take quick, forceful strokes, pushing the brush at the canvas.
Ria loves learning tricks; we have a short training time every day, so painting lessons fit well into that. Some of her other favorite tricks include ringing a bell and bowling down toilet rolls with a tennis ball!
Ria is from Malaysia and we just moved to the US last October. Her leg was amputated in September 2023 when she was just 6 months old after she was horribly beaten with an iron rod just for being a stray. Despite her rough past, she lives every day with joy and enthusiasm.
