Gleebenglorb is a bright, vibrant celebration of young Penelope’s journey into becoming the pony she is today.
I like to imagine that Penelope sees herself and her mum, Doris, as aliens. Their alien journey started in 2023, as a teeny tiny rescue pony is led into the large animal vet clinic, but the only large thing about her is an old neglected injury. Rescuers and vets make the tough decision about which procedure is best for Doris and her unborn foal, and she undergoes eye removal surgery. Once healed, Doris gave birth to the gorgeous little PenelopePenelope has only ever known her mum to have one eye, so it’s purely rational that Doris is a cyclops from another planet.
For the Tripawds “Home for the Pawlidays” theme, Penny (aka Gleeb) and Doris (aka Glorb) embraced their extraterrestrial hairstyles, and Penny made this painting inspired by her imaginary alien home; Gleebenglorb, where all the ponies have one eye, and all the puppies have 3 legs. 🩷
