Margaux is a thirteen year old Weimaraner from Alabaster, Alabama. Her story is a testament to the extraordinary potential of rescued dogs. Orphaned just a few days after birth, Margaux was bottle-fed and raised by her loving adopted family. They have enjoyed many activities together over the years, including earning titles in Flyball, Scent/Nosework, AKC Achiever Dog, and Trick Dog Excellent.

Margaux is a NACSW Harry Award winner and a two-time US K9 Biathlon finisher. She has graced the stage of the historic Alabama Theater twice, performing in the Birmingham Ballet’s Muttcracker.

Though Margaux has now lost her ability to hear, she shows no signs of slowing down! Margaux remains a dedicated member of Sniff 4 Life’s Cancer Detection Dog team, using her sense of smell to detect cancer in canine saliva and blood samples. Margaux and her teammates’ goals are to extend survival times and improve quality of life for canine cancer patients through early detection. When she isn’t sniffing, Margaux particularly loves to paint, often selecting her own paint colors and brushes for her projects. She has been honored to collaborate on art pieces with other artists, human and canine, from all over the world.
