This canvas painting was a fun collab between 4 of my talented piggies. Since the guinea pigs are pretty small, we decided to split our canvas up into multiple elements to create a northern lights sky scene with a dark treeline and a wolf howling at the moon. Each of the piggies took on a different aspect of the painting. Pansy painted the wolf and moon elements, Willow did the grass at the bottom of the canvas, and Skylar and Nala created the pretty northern lights sky.
The thought of this painting is that, the bird can seem unseen, and small (on the bottom left) but flying through the many colours of life, the bird gathers the beautiful colours on his feathers, and becomes the bright colours himself, absorbing the colours, in turn becoming bigger and more beautiful
To make this painting. Koa painted a 5×7 canvas. We used that canvas to make the two different size cut out bird shapes. Then with painters tape he painted down the middle of the heart shaped canvas the same colours. We then glued the birds to the heart shaped canvas to tell the story.
This is two paintings in one. This painting encourages us, to allow ourselves to absorb, and see the beauty around us, and let it become part of us.
As soon as the a variety of green colors were chosen by me, Yvonne Dagger, Picasso’s handler , Picasso went to work. The first session of his painting resembled a lush green garden. The remaining sessions focused on adding various hues of pink, yellow and orange. Picasso was so pleased with his painting that his tail wagged out of control!
We decided to go with Ivy’s favorite color, blue! So all shades of blue went into this piece. She layered the shades and then added a touch of silver to the top. Signature is in her traditional orange (my favorite color).
